“I’m Really Disappointed in Mercy Chinwo”: VDM ‘Exposes’ Gospel Singer With Proof, Dares Her to Deny Read more:

Nigerian online critic, Vincent Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), recently took to social media to accuse gospel singer Mercy Chinwo of misconduct. VDM shared a detailed video where he expressed his disappointment with Mercy Chinwo, claiming that he had thoroughly investigated the situation. He criticized her and her team for allegedly using Christianity and the gospel music genre as a cover for their actions. VDM challenged Mercy Chinwo to take legal action if she felt he was lying, stating that he would provide proof of his claims.

According to VDM, the issue began when Mercy Chinwo reportedly started taking performance bookings behind her record label's back and keeping the payments without sharing them with the label. VDM mentioned that Eezee Tee, her former label boss, had withheld her royalties due to this, and Mercy was sent an email in March 2023 about her breach of contract. He further claimed that Mercy refused to honor her obligations by missing performances for the label, leading to client refunds.

VDM also spoke about Mercy's petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), where she accused Eezee Tee of trying to seize her royalties. This resulted in Eezee Tee being questioned by the EFCC, with the case moving from Lagos to Ilorin. VDM alleged that Eezee was detained for nine days in Ilorin after refusing to comply with certain demands, but eventually, he agreed to release Mercy’s royalties and transfer $274,000 to her. VDM also claimed that Eezee requested Mercy to account for the money she made from unauthorized shows, but she reportedly refused an audit of her finances. Additionally, VDM mentioned that the EFCC tried to pressure Eezee to hand over Mercy’s music catalog, but he declined.
